Empowering our people to lead and inspire is something that me and my team are very passionate about at BAI Communications. To develop leadership qualities in our people, we work to instil confidence and equip future leaders with the skills they need to get the very best from themselves and their teams. Creating a culture that is both respectful, and yet, challenging, is key to doing just that.

We know that changing behaviour and taking on new responsibilities can be daunting at times, so we heavily invest in supporting our leaders and emerging leaders as they progress through this stage. We focus on driving connected leadership strategy across our global business as well as ensuring tenets of our culture programme ‘Be Courageous. Do What Matters’ are linked throughout.

Start to Lead

In addition to Executive Leadership Development, we recently added a very successful pilot programme, Start to Lead, to our leadership suite. Start to Lead is designed for our first time managers. This course is the first step towards building the foundations of leadership, encouraging the right mind-set to lead others and personal growth – from the inside out.

Dare to Lead

Our flagship Dare to Lead programme is designed to strengthen core leadership and management skills. Designed for our senior managers, we’ve been running this programme across our global businesses, from Australia to New York City, since 2015. Three modules, totalling five days, are spread over 12 months of learning.

“The Dare to Lead programme is among the best training I’ve experienced. The content is refreshing, and I’ve been able to incorporate the learnings into my do day-to-day role. It was also a great networking opportunity which helped me establish solid connections amongst my peers,” said Kathy Chung, Program Manager, Broadcast Australia.

To capture our vision of creating a ‘learning organisation’ and developing talented leaders, we partnered with  a creative change agency. Drawing on their expertise in leadership transformation, we designed a connected strategy with unique points of difference. This is essential to the ongoing success of our company as it helps ensure we retain critical talent.

Looking ahead

We’re constantly looking at ways to develop our leadership team, and we’re currently designing an advanced level of development training, with an emphasis on mastery of leadership.

Across the series of programmes, we challenge our leaders to think about how they will apply their learning and develop new skills.

Feeling inspired? We want to connect with people who value for the concept of growth. Growth of ourselves, our teams, our worlds and our communities. Visit our careers page to find out more about leadership and wider employment opportunities with BAI Communications.
