On 5 December, Ken Ranger spoke with members of the Professional Engineers of Ontario’s (PEO) York chapter about the challenges and triumphs of BAI’s wireless project in Toronto. Along with 35 fellow engineers, Ken took PEO members through the design and build phases of the Toronto project, through to the ongoing operation and maintenance of the network. PEO members were particularly surprised to learn that only one of Canada’s four primary mobile service providers opted to take advantage of BAI’s existing cellular infrastructure in the Toronto subway.

As a longstanding member of PEO himself, Ken took full advantage of the opportunity to invite open discussion and field questions on BAI’s network architecture and future plans to bring wireless connectivity to trains.

Many thanks to PEO’s York chapter for inviting Ken to share his insights and vision on BAI’s operations in Toronto and around the world.
