We are at the forefront of broadcast transmission in Australia, responsible for delivering national television and radio broadcast services since 1928.
We own and operate one of the world’s most extensive transmission networks. Our network operations centre monitors sites in metropolitan, regional and remote locations supported by the country’s largest in house broadcast trained field services team.
TV and radio
Right around Australia, we are distributing television and radio services on behalf of Australia’s national public broadcasters (ABC and SBS). We also work with commercial broadcasters, delivering digital terrestrial television as well as operating and maintaining radio services. In metropolitan markets, we are Commercial Radio Australia’s preferred supplier of operations and maintenance needs for digital services.
Throughout the transition to digital broadcasting, we worked with the ABC, SBS and industry to provide spectrum-planning advice to the Australian Communications and Media Authority – most recently relating to the restack of spectrum to deliver the digital dividend, following analogue switch-off. We were also the Program Implementation Manager to deliver the Spectrum Restack Program for the Commonwealth on behalf of the Australian broadcast industry. The Project Management Institute (Australia) recognised this work with 2015 Project of the Year.
Into the future
We plan for the future to enable our customers to take advantage of technology innovations. We were at the forefront of global DTV deployments in the early 2000’s, and pioneered the design of wide area single-frequency networks e.g. the SBS DTV single-frequency network in South East Queensland. We worked with industry to specify the ETSI-ratified DAB+ standard for digital radio broadcasting. We then launched on behalf of ABC and SBS a world first DAB+ national broadcaster system in Australia’s five largest capital cities. We have also been actively involved in field trials of emerging technologies including datacasting, digital radio, mobile TV and 3D TV.
A trusted partner
With our engineering, delivery and operational capability, we are a trusted partner for government, national and commercial broadcasters as well as industry stakeholders.

One of the most innovative and challenging projects in the broadcast industry. Broadcast Australia coordinated and managed the spectrum clearance (Restack) for all national and commercial television services. The project aim was to clear the 700 MHz band spectrum for the Government’s Digital Dividend auction, which netted $1.9 billion.

Broadcast (television & radio)
One of the largest broadcast networks in the world providing 1,529 managed transmission services to 99% of the population.
A digital terrestrial network engineered for performance. Designed and built in-house using best-of-breed technologies, it comprises seamlessly integrated digital transmission and RF broadcast equipment.
We act as a neutral host for a multitude of customers across a range of technologies. Collocation provides a cost-effective solution by integrating into structures already on the ground and in operation.
