Satellite ground stations
In 2007, Australia joined the USA’s Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) program.
The WGS is a high capacity satellite communications system used for military communications by the Australian Department of Defence in partnership with the United States Department of Defense (DoD).
BAI Communications, as a supplier of communications services to the Commonwealth, provided project management and engineering for the design and construction of earth stations necessary for Australia to connect into the WGS network. BAI continues to provide integrated logistics support and through life support services for the ground stations.
