On Sunday 20th May, Transit Wireless, a BAI Communications majority-owned company, sponsored the 5th annual Party on Wheels at the New York Transit Museum. This annual event benefits the Museum’s education programs, serving 25,000 New York City kids and teachers every year – including 3,000 participants in access programs for people with disabilities.

During this yearly event, guests are allowed exclusive early morning access to the museum. Breakfast and birthday cake are provided—and activities include crafts and dancing, a conductor cab photo booth, face painting, model trains and rides on vintage R1-9 subway cars from the Museum platform, to Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station and back. Transit Wireless also provided guests with a virtual reality experience to enjoy.

Attendees were able to explore the New York Transit Museum for a few hours— learning about the extraordinary engineering feats that went into the transit system, the workers who labored in the tunnels over a century ago, how the subway system forever changed the city’s landscape. The museum also gives an in-depth look at the present-day New York transit system and its ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership.

We thank everyone who participated for their role in making this event a success.  We hope to see you next year to have some fun, all while supporting a great cause!  View this past year’s highlights here.
