Company is on track to extend wireless connectivity services to all underground subway stations in NYC by the end of 2016: Re-launches websites and relocates to larger headquarters.

NEW YORK, USA, 12th May, 2016 —Transit Wireless, a BAI Communications company that is designing, building and deploying a cellular and Wi-Fi communications network in the underground stations of the New York City subway system, announced today that it has moved its corporate headquarters to larger office space in New York City at 1350 Broadway. The company was previously located at 192 Lexington Avenue in Midtown East since 2014.

The office relocation together with a refresh of its websites reflect Transit Wireless’ accelerated plan to connect all 279 underground stations by the end of 2016. The company is expanding its service offerings to customers as it brings cellular, Wi-Fi and public safety service to all of New York City’s underground subway stations two years ahead of its contract schedule with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

“We are very excited to be expanding our headquarters in New York City and continuing to work with great partners like the MTA/New York City Transit, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. As we work to complete the design and installation of our robust network, business demands compelled a move to larger space to accommodate our growing customer expectations. Everyone at Transit Wireless looks forward to working from our new headquarters as we deploy these critical communications services to the MTA underground stations and the millions of riders who use them,” said Transit Wireless CEO William A. Bayne.

Concurrent with its relocation, Transit Wireless has expedited recruitment and re-launched its corporate and Transit Wireless Wi-Fi websites. The corporate site (www.transitwireless.com) now provides more in-depth information about the range of services and solutions the company offers and includes capabilities for future projects. Included among the corporate website’s new features are a re-vamped career opportunities section that offers more details and enhanced functionality to prospective applicants and interactive maps of the subway system that indicate which connectivity services are available at each underground station. The Transit Wireless Wi-Fi site (www.transitwirelesswifi.com) includes subway line listings and an enhanced MTA map showing riders which stations offer access to free Wi-Fi service.
