SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA and LONDON, UK, 29th March 2017 – BAI Communications, a global leader in the design, build and operation of communications networks on transport systems, today announces the appointment of Billy D’Arcy as Chief Executive Officer for the group’s UK operation. He will start in July 2017.

Europe a key focus for Group CEO
Mr D’Arcy will be responsible for driving BAI Communications’ growth strategy in the UK, and delivering excellence and innovation to UK customers. With this leadership announcement, BAI Communications Group Chief Executive Officer Jim Hassell confirms the strategic importance of the group’s European presence, since the launch of its UK office in April 2016.

Mr Hassell said: “I am delighted to announce Billy D’Arcy’s appointment as CEO of BAI Communications UK. I have confidence that Billy’s experience at developing strong partnerships with customers, and attracting top talent, will benefit our working relationship with UK transport authorities, local government, and Mobile Network Operators.”

BAI Communications UK’s main priority is the delivery of advanced wireless services to large-scale transport networks, improving cost and operational outcomes for the operators. This enhances the overall travel experience for passengers, by delivering excellent mobile network connections, high-speed data and Wi-Fi, all of which are now essential for modern travel.

Former Telefonica O2 executive becomes CEO
Mr D’Arcy is a respected telecommunications and ICT industry veteran. Prior to joining BAI Communications, he held several senior leadership roles in Ireland and the UK for Cable & Wireless, Eircom, Worldcom, Telefonica O2 UK, and most recently he was the Managing Director, Enterprise & Public Sector, for O2 UK’s operations.
