Meet the people driving BAI’s growth and strategy for our telecommunications business. In this blog series, hear from our team as they share what they envision for the future and how growth will be achieved.

Adrian Ha, Business Development Manager – Wireless Solutions, joined the BAI Communications telecommunications team in 2022. He enjoys being part of a growing team that helps our customers transform their offering, solve their connectivity challenges, and realise their most ambitious business objectives. Adrian has 14 years of experience working for a network equipment vendor and brings a global perspective to delivering wireless solutions for a variety of customers and major events.

What are you responsible for in your current role at BAI?

I am responsible for the development of new opportunities, focussing on wireless solutions to help our customers achieve their goals from a commercial, technological and end user experience standpoint. Organisationally, I am part of the telecommunications team at BAI, led by Telecommunications Director Nick Gurney.

What attracted you to the role with BAI? (opportunity for growth, culture etc)

As a business development manager, I was drawn to BAI’s growth ambitions coupled with its proven history of delivering reliable shared infrastructure solutions in Australia. The chance to join the team at such a pivotal time was a very compelling opportunity to consider for my next career move. BAI is an organisation that is here for the long term to grow and scale with customers and that’s something I want to be part of.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

Being part of a growing team that is responsible for advancing connectivity throughout Australia. Together with our partners and customers we deliver tangible outcomes by extending connectivity through DAS, small cells, macro cells, and Wi-Fi. In this way, we engineer innovative solutions that meet business, customer, and community needs.

What’s something you find challenging about your work?

As my last role was overseas, I value the expertise and background knowledge from our technical and solutions team to get up to speed on product challenges, adoption, and applicability to the Australian market.

What motivates you at work?

Knowing that what we do at BAI, which is enabling people and communities to stay connected, informed, entertained, and safe in times of emergencies.

What’s something you’re proud of?

I am proud of the journey I have taken to arrive back home in Sydney and here at BAI. Prior to joining, I spent almost 14 years in the United States where I worked for a wireless network equipment vendor. During this time, I worked on every continent (except Antarctica) to deliver solutions at some of the biggest global events such as Super Bowl, the World Cup, and the Olympics.

How do you collaborate with your team?

In the past, I’ve mostly collaborated with my team in person and in a group environment where everyone could share and discuss ideas. Nowadays, I’ve found it just as effective if not more so, to do this virtually with the features that are available to us via Microsoft Teams and the way in which we can store and share files/data.

What’s your most-used productivity hack?

I typically start my day by getting up at 5am to get in a gym workout or a ride on my bike. I find that a regular fitness regime, particularly in the morning helps me prepare mentally for the day ahead and increases my productivity.
