With two decades of telecommunications expertise, Brendan O’Reilly brings a proven track record of delivering complex technology solutions to his role with BAI Communications (BAI).

Based out of London, Brendan is responsible for accelerating BAI’s expansion of its neutral host solutions and magnifying its strengths as a telecommunications infrastructure service provider.

Prior to BAI, Brendan was Chief Technology Officer for Telefónica and ran the O2 U.K. operation for six years. During that time, he led a team of 700 engineers in the development of O2’s network share partnership with Vodafone and helped with the 4G deployment and the launch of its 5G network. He was also accountable for O2’s strategy, design, delivery and operation across both mobile and fixed networks.

Delivering the best customer experience is at the heart of how Brendan works, knowing that his people are key to achieving this.

In his spare time Brendan loves sport, rugby, cricket, football and NRL, almost as much as he loves hanging out with his family. He’s also a keen amateur baker and avid traveller.

Elyssa has worked at BAI Communications since 2003, in various roles including Commercial Director, Director Business Development and Director Business Transformation. Prior to joining BAI she worked with PwC and in the UK for BBC and Group4 Securicor. Elyssa is driven by understanding what the future holds for BAI, our customers and our people.

In her current role as Chief Commercial Officer at BAI Australia, Elyssa is responsible for supporting strategy development and execution across the broadcast, telecommunications and government sectors. Her focus will be to develop the long range strategy, support high value opportunities and growth initiatives, and drive engagement with government and industry to influence outcomes.

London-based Andrew is our Director of Engineering here at BAI Communications.

For the past 20 years, Andrew has been designing next-gen connectivity networks around the world and in the process he’ has become a passionate advocate for mobile and 5G tech and the positive impact they can have on communities and their citizens.

Andrew is an accomplished CTO and communications engineer, with extensive experience in system engineering, solution marketing, technology strategy and innovation, as well as high-lead design and business development.

He has also held progressive leadership roles with Cable & Wireless, Nokia, and Telefónica.

Andrew has a knack for making the complex simple, leading his team to translate any number of innovative technology possibilities into real world successes here at BAI.

In his downtime, Andrew is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, a Board Member of the Small Cell Forum, and the Chair of the Communications Infrastructure Council at Tech UK.

Outside work, he enjoys the great outdoors with his family – especially walking holidays and skiing. Andrew’s wife is Swedish, so Scandinavia is a frequent holiday destination.

BAI’s Group Engineering Systems Director, Josh Mackinnon, is recognized globally for his transit Wi-Fi expertise and has over 25 years in engineering, specializing in rail.

Having joined the Canadian business in 2014 and now a member of the Global Technology team, Josh brings a wealth of experience in the development and realization of new technology platforms, as well as technology risk minimization. His specialist skills include Hotspot2.0/Passpoint, 802.11ac, bluetooth beacons and similar technologies, cellular offload, technology and integration issues with MSPs, data acquisition and use.

Josh has a proven track record of on-time and on-budget delivery of high-value, complex and cutting-edge projects, paired with an excellent ability to cultivate relationships across a broad spectrum of customers, industry partners and colleagues.

Shaun leads our product division with over 18 years’ experience across many facets of the communications industry, including broadcast, public safety, as well as transit and telecommunications segments.

Specialising in neutral host communications systems and deployment, his areas of expertise include 5G, product development, network architecture, systems integration and project management.

Shaun also has a reputation for developing and managing high performance teams and delivering customer-focused outcomes, often in extremely challenging situations.

One example was the successful 5G-ready cellular deployment below and above ground in New York City, the largest and one of the oldest transit systems in the world.

As a keynote speaker at the 2020 5G Business Summit in Australia, Shaun spoke about business challenges our partners at The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) faced, and how BAI’s technology solutions helped transform New York City’s subway into a vital part of the of the city’s smart infrastructure.
