HONG KONG – we have upgraded 91 stations, 69 light rail stations and 220kms of tracks, servicing 2 billion rides per year.

At BAI Communications, we take a holistic ‘track-to-ground’ view of connectivity and Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway (MTR) is a terrific example of our ability to provide seamless connectivity upgrades throughout the network. In Toronto, our network infrastructure makes it possible for passengers to report security incidents through the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) SafeTTC mobile app. Our overcrowding detection has been adapted to support the TTC in encouraging ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic. By leveraging anonymised association data, our custom-built, real-time capacity management system ensures safe social distancing protocols are maintained.

Together with the New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA), we created and implemented the Transit Wireless public safety network, a foundation for critical communications systems, including Help Point intercoms, a 4.9 GHz public safety network, and the ability to dial 9-1-1 from a mobile phone in an emergency.
