Transit Wireless has been recognized as an Honorable Mention in the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Genius Transit Challenge for its proposed solution to implement high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity into the New York City Subway System’s train fleet.
Transit Wireless’ 27-year P3 partnership with the MTA guarantees that it maintains and grows the network over the time of the contract. How does it not only sustain, but improve connectivity in an ever-expanding network 80+ ft underground, subject to various external factors? “Passengers want to experience the same connectivity on their commute as they do everywhere else, whether at work, at home or on the move. They also want to travel safely and easily above and below ground, accessing the information they need reliably and without interruption.”
In addition, Wi-Fi has been installed in underground stations a full two years ahead of schedule. The MTA’s early delivery was in response to the Governor’s directive at the beginning of 2016 to accelerate the project.
Transit Wireless is on track to extend wireless connectivity services to all underground subway stations in NYC by the end of 2016: Re-launches websites and relocates to larger headquarters.
