With digital modernization at the forefront of Toronto’s smart city evolution, the expectations of its transport riders are rising. Transit cellular connectivity is increasingly becoming an important issue for Toronto’s transit riders.
BAI Communications’ 2019 continuous connectivity research report asked 2,538 rail users in five global cities (Toronto, London, Hong Kong, New York and Sydney) about their travel experiences and expectations. For Torontonians, their desire for a better connected transport system is synonymous with their view of Toronto as a world-class city.
To supplement the research report’s findings, BAI surveyed more than 28,000 users of their public Wi-Fi network in the Toronto subway. The survey revealed that Toronto’s transit riders want to be making the most of their time spent commuting, whether that time is spent connecting with family & friends, or getting a head start on their work day. The survey also revealed that Toronto’s transit riders feel safer with access to connectivity.
The following infographic highlights some of the key findings of BAI’s localized report and BAI’s independent survey.
